Hello

Shirley Noël Toby, M.Div.
Associate
Marriage and Family Therapist
Serves NY

My whole life I have loved supporting individuals through life transitions, conflict, and towards their goals. I worked with youth through mentorship and advocacy for over a decade. Through my experiences I found the importance of viewing each person relationally as they are tied to community both familial, socially and culturally. Therefore, it has been such a rewarding transition to follow my calling of being a therapist to individuals, couples, and families who are willing to collaborate in re-envisioning their life through steps of healing, healthy coping, and change.  I am excited and passionate about collaborating with all future clients who are working through anxiety, depression, family of origin issues, racial and sexual trauma, grief, marriage, family and/or friendship dynamic, life transitions, and perinatal mental health (expecting parents and postpartum support).

More About Shirley

I attained my masters of Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliance University. I also have my Master's of Divinity from Emory University and I am a proud alumna of the #1 HBCU, Spelman College. When I am not engaging in therapy, I am enjoying all of life's joys with my beloved husband and our growing family. I also serve as the Vice President of my alumnae chapter and contribute to my sorority's mission of providing locally and globally. Additionally, I love to travel, knit and train for half-marathons.

I live by the words of the beloved late Maya Angelou, "My mission in life is to not merely survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor and some style".

I am a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and work under the supervision of Michelle S. Park, LMFT.
