Shawn Li, M.A.
Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
I'm a firm believer in the transformative power of therapy. It's been an invaluable resource in my own personal journey, and I prioritize ensuring that my clients feel they're in a safe space, so that they can fully come to share themselves. I use a relational and family-oriented lens to help clients discover the patterns and narratives that impact how they relate to the people and environments around them. Therapeutic goals are set collaboratively, so that in the midst of the courageous inner work they are about to embark on, a "north star" is maintained in the counseling room.

More About Shawn
Before entering the counseling field, I honed my corporate experience in a variety of environments: high net worth family offices, public accounting firms, and technology companies. Through these varied environments, I developed a deep interest in working with people and their relational systems. I enrolled full time in Alliance University's Marriage & Family Therapy master's program during COVID, and began my counseling career at an NYC-based intensive outpatient center. There I worked with families, adolescents, and young adults struggling with substance abuse.
As an associate, I'm under the close supervision of Michelle S. Park, LMFT. I'm passionate about the future of responsible telehealth-based therapeutic services, and I'm proud to be a climate-aware trainee, recognizing that the current climate emergency may be a significant contributor to psychological distress for many people. I'm a student member of the Climate Psychology Alliance of North America and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
